I love to ask my couples to share more about their day - here are Mark and Heather's recollections!
How did you meet? We met through a group of friends.
Tell us about your dress, shoes and other accessories! Heather found the dress in Jacksonville, FL while shopping with her Mother and Daughter. She tried on 15+ dresses, and her sales person brought her this one as a last one to try. She knew it was instantly right! It felt perfect. It was comfortable, beautiful, had a train but not too long, worked with a veil, etc. Her shoes were hand made in Spain. Her earrings were something "old" and "blue" from her Grandmother, and the color was complimentary to the wedding colors. The hair comb was something "borrowed" from her Sister, as was her pearl white bracelet which was borrowed from her Step-Mom.
What detail did you like best about your wedding day? Heather: She liked that everything was perfect, with no regrets or frustration the entire day. Mark: The consistent theme of mountains and rustic charm, and the color scheme of blue, pink, and earth tones from the flowers to the bowties to the napkins to the handkerchiefs.
What was your favorite moment during your wedding day? Heather: The reading of the vows where she was totally in the moment, not thinking about anyone or anything other than the two of us. Mark: My favorite moment was watching her walk down the aisle, knowing it was all exactly how she and I dreamed it would be.
Tell us about your food and cake! The plated dinner started with a strawberry spinach salad, with a choice entree of Filet and Shrimp, or Chicken, or Tortellini, paired with roasted fingerling potatoes and haricot vertes. The cake was from Buttercream Dreams LLC and was three tiered, with two different flavors. One layer was almond cake with cherry filling and white chocolate icing, and the other layer was strawberry cake with white chocolate filling and icing.
Why did you choose Allegra’s Studio for your photography? A) We loved the storytelling style, B) We knew she would provide unique pictures with an artistic flair. We love art!
What's next on your calendar as a couple? Sunday we had a brunch with family and friends, hosted by Mark's parents. The honeymoon will start with a few days in Napa, then a flight from Reno to Denver for a rescheduled post-COVID concert to see Blake Shelton, followed by a return to Reno and 5 days at Lake Tahoe. We are looking forward to spending time alone and relaxing!
