How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends who were at the wedding - Keoni and Stephanie. I believe you got a picture of me with them upstairs during the reception while Alan and I were talking with all of our guests. Unfortunately they had to leave early.
Tell us about your dress, shoes and other accessories!
I got my dress at Anjolique Bridal in Charlotte, NC- I love lace and the fit and flare style and that's exactly what I got :) I wanted a little bling and so I made sure my shoes would shine. I had a handkerchief around my boquet that was given to my mom at my baby shower - it's sown like a baby bonnet to wear home from the hospital, saved for the wedding day and used as a handkerchief. There is a whole little poem that goes with it if you are interested.
What detail did you like best about your wedding day?
This is a hard question because despite being nervous and stressing beforehand it seemed like everything came together perfectly and flowed so smoothly. It was great to be surrounded by family and friends and have different parts of our worlds combine into a fantastic evening. I absolutely loved being able to do the sparkler "LOVE" with Tim and Hannah Sosin who did so much to make the evening flow so smoothly. It's nice to have that picture and moment with them!
What was your favorite moment during your wedding day?
Kaiti - just being there in the moment listening to my dad deliver a beautiful ceremony and standing there next to Alan in all the beauty of the scene and being able to cherish that.
Alan - the food...but also just getting to hang out with loved ones once all the structured event stuff was over.
Tell us about your food and cake!
The food from Mission BBQ was absolutely delicious!!! They gave top notch service and thought of every detail - they even packed a bag for us to take to the hotel that night with a little bit of everything. Such a nice personal touch.
Our cake and cupcakes were made by Lauren Eagle who operates her own small business out of her home called Sweet Treats by Lauren. She made the cake exactly how I asked and it was so delicious too! Secret though- her cupcakes are our favorite. We had pumpkin spice latte cupcakes that had a coffee buttercream filling, lemon raspberry cupcakes with a raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream filling.
Why did you choose Allegra’s Studio for your photography?
As you know, we were having scheduling/contract delay issues with another photographer we were working with and after another Google search and glance at your portfolio I gave you a call. You were so sweet, patient and understanding on the phone and were so willing to be flexible with us and our budget constraints. Having a contract from you withing 30 mins spoke volumes of your amazing customer service, attention to detail, professionalism and follow through. All in all just great vibes right off the bat. Upon first meeting you when you walked into the bridal suite I knew we were in great hands and you did such a phenomenal job, setting scenes, getting great lighting, reminding us to look at each other and not you :P , and getting the family in and out of shots so well - even having stickers on hand for baby Hudson! Your 20+ years of experience shines through in every detail. Also, totally amazing that you had a sneak peak ready for us by the next morning. I was not expecting that!
What's next on your calendar as a couple?
Due to covid and uncertainty with travel we are hoping to have the chance to go out of country for our honeymoon in the new year but for now we are taking a long weekend this coming weekend to camp in Asheville and Alan will be racing in the "Swank 65" (65 mile mountain bike race). He is an avid cyclist...and I like riding too...just not as much haha :).
